About Chromia

What is Chromia? Chromia is an open source public blockchain conceived of by Swedish company Chromaway AB. The Chroma token (CHR) was launched in May of 2019. The technology behind the Chromia blockchain is adapted from an earlier technology called ‘Postchain’, a solution provided by Chromaway AB for enterprise clients. How does Chromia work? Chromia is a standalone Layer-1 blockchain and EVM compatible Layer-2 enhancement for Binance Smart Chain and Ethereum. It is designed to enhance existing dApps and allow for the creation of next-generation dApps by providing scalability, improved data handling, and customizable fee structures. The blockchain uses a unique architecture called relational blockchain, as well as a custom programming language called Rell. Rell is designed to code and function very similarly to SQL, allowing developers to leverage the security and immutability of blockchain while storing and handling data with the efficiency of a relational database. What happened to Chromia
Chromia reached $1.49 5 years ago. It now trades at $0.0165 — a decline of 98.9% from that peak. $1,000 bought at the high would be worth $11.09 today.
Returning to the previous high from here would take a gain of 90x. That figure is arithmetic, not a forecast: it is simply the peak divided by the current price.
One limitation is worth stating plainly. CoinGraph holds 1.9 years of daily prices for CHR, and the all-time high falls before that window opens. The peak above is the figure reported by the market data provider; the chart on this page cannot show it. Within the 1.9 years held, the range runs from $0.0123 to $0.3458.
How CHR is rated
Chromia scores 8 out of 100, which places it in the Dormant band — the inputs show sustained decline with little trading activity behind it. A higher score means a healthier reading. The score starts at 100 and each measured factor deducts from it.
The deductions for CHR are: price decline, 49 points (down 98.9% from its all-time high of $1.49); volume decay, 19 points (trading volume is 76% below its busiest sustained stretch); market cap erosion, 14 points (market cap down 94% from $268.67M); time below peak, 10 points (1,755 days since the peak).
Is CHR moving on its own?
From its lowest close in the 1.9 years held — $0.0123 — CHR has gained 34.7%, a 1.3x move off that floor. CoinGraph reads this as stirring.
Over the last 30 days CHR moved +17.4% against the wider market's +22.0% — moving broadly in line with the wider market. This distinction matters more than the headline number: a coin rising only when everything rises is being carried, and that is a different situation from one climbing on its own demand.
Extending the pace of the last 90 days, a return to the previous high would take roughly 18 years. That is an extrapolation of a recent trend, not a projection — 90 days of crypto prices is a short base, and the pace will not hold steady.
CHR market position
CHR has a market capitalisation of $16.12M, ranking 956 by size, on 24-hour trading volume of $7.73M.
Daily turnover — volume as a share of market cap — is 48.0%. Turnover is what tells you whether a price is real: a coin can hold a large nominal valuation while almost nothing changes hands, and a price set by very few trades is one that moves sharply when anyone sizeable arrives.
Annualised volatility from daily returns is 100%. CoinGraph rates overall risk High on these inputs.
Chromia — common questions
Is Chromia still active?
CoinGraph rates Chromia (CHR) 8 out of 100 today — Dormant, meaning the Dormant band — the inputs show sustained decline with little trading activity behind it. The rating is derived from four disclosed inputs — price decline from the all-time high, volume decay, market cap erosion and time below peak — and is an opinion about what the data shows, not a prediction. The full breakdown is on this page.

CoinGraph's survival rating for Chromia is 8/100 (Dormant), derived from disclosed inputs.
Will Chromia recover to its all-time high?
Nobody can know, and CoinGraph does not predict. The measurable part: CHR needs a 90x gain from $0.0165 to reach $1.49 again. Right now its recovery signal reads stirring, and it is moving broadly in line with the wider market over the last 30 days — a coin climbing on its own demand is a different situation from one drifting with the market.
Is Chromia a good investment?
CoinGraph does not give investment advice or recommendations.
